Got an update from our state USDA folks and there have been several cases of the mild form found in other flocks near the affected flock. Apparently the mild form is capable of mutating into a deadly form. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong on this. This outbreak may stop state officials from lifting their bans that are now in place.

Just had my birds NPIP tested and the usually test for AI but this time they didn't, the state tester told me that the state doesn't do it any more , that they are not funded for that since there has never been a confirmed case in Oklahoma

That's why we need a uniform set of regulations concerning the testing for the bird flu. Right now, each state makes up it's own regulations and it can be confusing if you show in other states.

The states can "agree" to sync their NPIP programs ,,BUT can't be forced to because we STILL have the US Constitution .. The 10th Amendment to our Const is the States Right Amendment .. Aritcle 10 of the "Bill Of Rights" ... I think Scott Hanson brought that up some time back ...

There is nothing to stop the states from agreeing on a uniform set of regulations except that they just don't want to do it.
