I keep mine on starter for 12-14 weeks and then switch to Flock Raiser.

Flock Raiser in the crumble form looks about like starter/grower in texture and is 20% protein.

I start them on 18% medicated starter then switch around 10 weeks old to a 26% gamebird starter.

When I switch to Flock Raiser, I do it gradually by mixing the two feeds 50% each for a week or two and then to straight Flock Raiser. I don't use the crumbles but rather the Flock Raiser pellets. There is much less wasted feed that way. They really prefer the pellets and will pick them out of the crumbles every time.

Does any of you fellows of gals ever mash up boiled eggs and mix in with your medicated chick starter?

Some times I do But I do this mix for the big ones 2.

Take the shell from the hard boiled eggs and microwave 10 sec. makes brittle... Rolling pin till small chips almost like powder.
add to hard boiled eggs,
I mix a bird seed in and cod liver oil,
then add bread crumbs to soak up the oil to keep from being wet. mash all together.
then add ur crumbles.. Even my parrots like this mixture..
