I am thinking about painting the inside of my pens. What do y'all think i should use?

On my new pen i built i used thompson's water seal on the inside and out. I don't know how it will work, but my thinking was by sealing the floor hopefully it wouldn't absorb the water from the feces...

we use creeksand, then use a cat litter scoop to clean the sand

I may go to river sand from the sandbar. The granules are larger and can serve as a good grit. Both creek sand and river sand are packed full of nutrients...

i use 2 old shop vac cuts the time in half i got about 90 condition pens and try to clean them every 30 to 40 days, i have used play sand but it packed down to hard, i use wood shavings mostly, and cedar shaving sometime to help with odor i also use fine sawdust and sand mixture with a little burnt motor oil mixed in to help with dust it works pretty good. I am always trying to fine a better combo but this is working so far

Ok to keep Bantams in the small coops all the time? Ever put them on the ground?
