Thats a neat way to water birds but how do you keep them from freezing?

Can you believe I took a leaf blower in there last October and cleaned all the cages. Where does all that dust come from! The photos are of a holding area that I keep 24 extra birds in and is not heated. The cost to install was around $100 for this building. I've found the watering system is good down to 25 degrees. Below 25 and I'll take the buckets loose and drain the system. See the extra black cups hanging on the cages in the photo. They are used when I take the buckets loose. We don't have many nights below 25 degrees in central Alabama but these systems are so easy to maintain I'd use them as much as I could if I lived elsewhere. My time went from an hour plus everyday to zero time watering the birds. I add water and vinegar about every 5 days to the buckets.

My goal for an auto water supply is to be able to take a vacation and not worry about my birds. I have put 13 lb. hanging feeders and was looking for a way to get water to them for several days.

By the way the hanging feeders are just 12 or 13 dollars at tractor supply.

Blood54,
You need the water tanks I talked about that connects to the public supply. The tanks could work either cups or nipples because the output is gravity controlled. I believe the company that makes them is "Ludwig". I do not know the cost. When we go on vacation it is much easier to find someone to look in on the farm and feed when necessary because they don't have to water. If anyone needs further help contact me via email.

I want to stay away from water cups since all our birds are on the ground. Do the water nipples drip very bad?
