I thought I would start this thread on breeding SDW's. Male and Female line. I am not a breeder of SDW's but I do raise a few. I will post some pictures of what I like to look for in breeders and some of you guys that raise and breed SDW's can join in. This fist picture that I will post is a pullet that I plan to use in the breeding pens this year. I think some of her good points is wing carriage and also the type of the wing. I dont like what I call box wings and this is when the end of the wing is just as thick as the beginning of the wing. I like to see the wing come down in a shape that almost resembles a knife point. I would probably like to see her back just a tad shorter but I do like the transition from the base of her neck thru her tail....OK lets here from some of you guys.

Thanks tater for bringing out the black lesser. Now here is a question, "Do you guys think that those black lesser's would lead to a blacker breast on your males?"
If you also notice on the pullet, she carries a lot of shafting and also quiet a bit of lacing. I have heard this said in bbreds that the halo and the shafting on the females make for better colored males?
What do you all think?

silver2...I don't see why we cant have discussions on other varieties. All we need is for those guys to start a thread on that variety. I think the breeding part of our sport is very interesting.
