I am wanting to work on gold duck wings. My question is I have two pair GDW of excellent quality. Females currently not laying but I also have 6 silver duckwing of excellent quality, from the reading I have been doing the genetics are different is this true. My hope is in order to get numbers out I could use the SDW females to the GDW males as a project? Anyone want to chime in on the feasibility of this and what I would get? Or is there a better way to use the SDW females to achieve the GDW goal.
Thanks Heather Hayes

Heather you can breed your GDW's to SDW's and you should get some nice birds. Probably get a few light ones but also get some nice colored birds also. Good luck, sounds like a fun project.

Thank you, I think the 2 pair I have are likely the only 2 pair in Canada at the moment. They are great birds but I have been tearing my hair out trying to figure out how to get enough numbers out this year to work with. I am really excited now. A new challenge for me going forward. Thanks again.
