You can breed for vitality and fertility just as you can for type. If you are careful you can line breed for many years and never add new or outside blood. Be warned though, that you will fix those characteristics that you want but the undesirable traits will come out too. You have to be strict on your culling.

oneof the things to look for is egg size , watch out if the eggs start getting smaller
