I have a blue wheaten k that is pale blue but not white like a sport. Have not seen this light pale blue before and I hatched out more than 1 this year. I can't decide if he is a sport or something else. Your thoughts please.

Go back over Wheaten with him. Once in a while "sports" will come this pale Blue Or Blues will wash out to a pale blue. Cross back to Wheaten and let me know what you get. If 50/50 Wheaten and Blue Wheaten he is washed out Blue, if 100% Blue Wheaten he is Sport.

What is his type like? Is he worth keeping in the breeding pen? Was he out of a Blue to Blue mating?

I have several. There all out of blue to blue mating. The sports that I have gotten in the past have been white. I looked closer at some older ones and it looks like they are molting out the blue and coming back white.

It is possible they are just pale blue as juveniles and will molt out as sports. Keep up with them as they may produce a more uniform Blue than other sports, when mated back to Wheaten.

Tim I have a blue wheaton sport pullet. I know I can put a wheaton with her to get blue wheaton and put my black tail buff with her to get blue tail buff. Is there any other varieties I could put over to get something else? Just wondering what all I can cross with her. Thanks in advance.

I got a lite blue male out of a sport male to a blue wheaten hen, I am going to breed him to a wheaten to see what I get. I have never seen a blue wheaten male this lite, and I have raised them for 15 years.

I got a light male last year and one again this year. They are out of blue x blue. They are sport/splash but look like a powder blue wheaten. He has good wing bow and bay. I bred out the one last year and will breed out of this cockerel in the spring.
