What do you guys use when cleaning your incubators before hatching season? Also do you use anything in the water to help fight bacteria while incubating?....Shane

I use Lemon Fresh Lysol to clean my incubator. I would put a small amount of bleach in the water if you don't have city water. Since I got city water I don't use anything in the water. I have a high hatch rate doing this.

I've heard of the bleach also. I work at a veterinary clinic and we have a disinfectant / cleaner called chlorhexidine. It's a great viracidal, and does great on bacteria. I run it in my incubator water, clean with it, run it in my humidifier etc......

Thanks for the feedback. I had a fellow mention oxine to me. I done some reading this weekend and I am interested in trying it. There was a ratio to mix for cleaning incubator and then a ratio of 7drops/gallon to use in humidity tray while incubating. Anybody here used it before?
