When a bird is in bad condition (beat up feathers & such) do u have to wait for the next molt or can he be brought back to top form some how?

conditioning for a show bird starts when the bird is hatched, but if it ends up in bad shape. just wait for next year. it's too late in the season for any feather pulling. it takes about 6 to 8 weeks for a feather to grow back and sometimes it will notgrow back or come back short
